2005-05-20 - Sucre, Bolivia - Vivi and Binho
One of my first nights with my future girlfriend and, of course Giovanny (or Binho). I met Viviana way back when Jeff and I went to Rurrenebaque at the tourist (or ranking) office. I knew that she had moved to the office in Sucre and when I finally went to find her, I met Giovanny. They were in charge of the Sucre office.
I’m not sure exactly why, but I started hanging out with Vivi and Binho all the time in Sucre. We got along really well and I was impressed by how they were different from most Bolivians I met. For one, they worked. That is, they had real jobs and they actually worked at their jobs. Also, they were both from Santa Cruz and, therefore, didn’t already have a lot of friends to hang out with. Sure, I had my Peace Corps friends but they were always in and out of the city.
In the pictures, you see us going out to a disco, eating dinner at a pizzeria, and at some bars in Sucre. Because they work with the tourist office in Sucre, I lucked out in getting some of the “fringe benefits”, taking advantage of free food and drinks.
