My man Dan Conklin made one of his rare appearances in the city to hang out for a few days and watch some of the NBA finals seeing as his team (Detroit) was in the semi-finals. We watched the game at Café Berlin, ate at the Chinese restaurant, and had more drinks at Bibliocafe.
We tried going to Joyride and thought that we could watch the game there since one of their employees had given us the okay that afternoon. However, we walked into the bar and the bartender (Dutch dude, btw) refused to show us the game and was perturbed because I had turned on the TV.
After the incident at Joyride, we weren’t too happy about seeing the game and starting to think of plans to sabotage the place. Because we were among peoples from the U.S., Bolivia and Columbia, we joked that the Bolivian could set up their typical road blocks, the Columbian would carry his automatic weapon, and us two “Americans” would just blow up the place. But seriously…
