2005-08-01 - Santiago, Chile - Plaza de Armas

Back in Santiago, we decided to try out a new hostel recommended to us that was in the main plaza. It turned out to be relatively cheap and nice. It overlooked the plaza from the fifth floor and had a kitchen with breakfast included. Not a bad deal. We ate pizza in the kitchen, crashed for the night, and headed back up to Valle Nevado in the morning.

At Valle Nevado, it was storming pretty hard with snow and high wind. The snow was good but wind bad. The wind kept us from going on much of the mountain and reduced visibility to zero in many places. Bad wind. So what did we do? You guessed it! Back to the lodge for Irish coffees, pizzas, and beers.

We stayed at the same place in Farrellones, taking advantage of the food and the view.
