After spending nearly two weeks back in La Paz, I decided that I had been working pretty hard and thus deserved a little vacation. So I took off for a week, heading south on the train from Oruro.
First stop, Uyuni. I hung out with Viviani for a day and then we hopped back on the train to Tupiza.
We spent half a day just lounging around, enjoying our nice hotel and swimming. The next day we joined the tour we had signed up for, the Triathlon.
This would be my first ever triathlon although, admittedly, it wasn't much of a real triathlon. We rode bicycles along a dirt ride in a canyon for about an hour.
Next was lunch and we stopped at a scenic part of a the valley.
The second leg of the triathlon was a horsey ride for a couple of hours that left my ass soar for a few days.
Finally, we rode down a road on bicycle that ended the so-called triathlon. We were supposed to ride all the way back to town but my ass was hurting too much (and my bike was a piece of junk).
